The sun is out, the windows are open, the air is crisp and warm… what more could we ask for?  I have been dying to dig in and work on some of my new bags with the beautiful spring fabrics.   Why is it that each time I see a new Amy Butler fabric I think I MUST have it?    Good thing I spent the cold days reworking my studio, more room for fabric!

For your viewing (and buying) pleasure…

Oh how the time flies.  I can not believe it is already September.  That means tailgating, football, thoughts of fall (maybe not the actual weather, but we can think about it)  and before you know it, Christmas!   I have been busy busy busy sewing up a storm with no time to post.  I thought I would pop in and post a few pictures of my newest bags and its always a good excuse to post some cute pup pics… just because he is so adorable.   Enjoy.

Whew!  I have had an idea in my head for this bag for a while, but it was a tough pattern to create.  (for me that is)  I’ll be making this bag with or without zippers.  In fact, I did make one for myself without a zipper. Pretty exciting, I never carry the newest bags.  But I forced myself to make two at one time so I could.  🙂    I’ll post that photo too.  What I love about carrying the magnetic closure version of this bag is when I want to dig in there to locate something it opens up really wide.  Kind of like a bucket.   Just my speed.  In fact, way way back when I needed a diaper bag  I would have used this rather than the ugly versions we had!Large Handmade Tote

Here is my very own bag!  🙂

When I spotted a delightful green tablecloth, I was determined to use it.  No matter that it doesn’t work in my kitchen or dining room.  I love this fabric and I want it!! 🙂    I tend to do that a lot, find an item I have no use for and refashion it into something I can use.

So my new tablecloth is now turning into purses!   I even broke down and made one for my own personal use.  I feel so extravagant!

Here is the Katy Bag made in part from my new tablecloth.

Did I ever mention how much fun it is to create a custom bag?  I love sending fabric selections and combinations back and forth.  Then,  in the end, when all of the fabrics come together to make my customers happy it is so rewarding.  It’s really the next best thing to making a tote purse for yourself.

The latest custom order I had was especially fun for me.  I adore a mismatched array of fabrics.  Believe it or not, there really is an art to putting a mismatched bag together.  And you will see from the picture, this girl knew what she was doing!  She picked out a great combination for her purse.

Goals….   they keep us in line and progressing like we should.   One of my many current goals is keep the bags listed on KeetaCollection.com fresh.  In the daily grind  adding the new bags sometimes gets pushed to the back burner.  So as added incentive, I am marking down many bags.   Surely a website full of sold bags will entice me to meet my goal.

So enjoy them while they last.
