Archive for January, 2009

Mastered the dough, mastered the sauce,  got the toppings down pat, now if only I could master the transfer onto the hot cooking stone.   Tonight’s dinner… pizza blobs.   When I try to transfer from my board to the stone the dough is sticking, even with flour and/or cornmeal.  The results, a beautiful pizza blob. 🙂  Tonight we have one blob and one pizza.  I guess a 50% success rate isn’t all that bad!

WOW…. Are You Serious?

Ok, so in the spirit of moving on from the January Blues I am offering a little special deal to five of my closest friends.  (you will be after this)  Start shopping www.KeetaCollection.com .   The first five people that email me about an order will receive their bag at half price (on original prices – but I might even discount a sale bag or two?  Just ask)  This means custom orders too!!! All you have to do is email me at KeetaCollection@aol.com and we can set up a sale.   I do work best under pressure, so I am hoping this offer will get my brain and heart in the same working place 🙂 .  The offer is for a short time, and  I’ll update when its over.

UPDATE ~  Thanks girls!  I had a blast working on your projects!  What a wonderful inspiration.  I’ll have to do this again sometime.  Keep a lookout.  Also sign up for my mailing list on KeetaCollection.com  for sale information.

Anyone else having a hard time settling into January?  We had such a fun Christmas and now my brain wants to stay in play mode.   I went browsing through Etsy this morning for a few minutes and came up with a few playful items.   Maybe you will get a giggle from these too…

Girly, Funky & Spunky!

Hmmm… I have been somewhat productive this week.    It sure is hard to get back into work mode!  Anyway, here is one of my latest slings.  I love this purse, with the bits of Japanese import fabrics.  It’s my style of choice.  Maybe I will sneak this one… if not, look on www.KeetaCollection.com for more details about it.

Always a softie for polka dots, especially the Amy Butler variety,  I decided to make a large all day tote from these red dots.   This tote came out funky, serene and bold all at the same time!   I love the zen feel of the leaves and natural buttons.   I have been playing around with a little hard bottom on the insides, and think I like it. I would have been thrilled to carry this bag when my kids were little.  What a fun diaper bag it makes.   Not only did I get this purse made, but photographed and listed on www.KeetaCollection.com.  Now I am feeling quite accomplished. 😉

With life finally settling down a bit, I thought I would slip in a little post Christmas bragging.  I shopped handmade this year a bit more and found quite a few wonderful gifts.   These earrings were made by a super talented and extremely fun artist on etsy.   My daughter has had a hard time making herself take these earrings off…. wonder if she is afraid I will take them?

I gave her an idea of what I wanted, pretty vague to be honest, and she jumped right into my brain and made the perfect pair.   She has two shops on Etsy filled with the most beautiful items, so be prepared to drool away!

Next, I went on a search for a small funky spoon rest for my Mom.  That is exactly what I found!    I purchased this fun rest and my Mom LOVES it!    This seller has some fun and funky pottery pieces, so be sure to pop into her shop too.

And nowwww, a favorite gift that my husband and I recieved…..  a puzzle with our dog’s face.  I believe these puzzles are handcut and they are amazing.  The carpenters and woodworkers in the family (and we have many!)  were all amazed at the intricate cutting of this puzzle.  It was fun to put together, and a great quality gift that will last forever.  Sorry I don’t have a better picture, but we took him apart for the next time.

Extremely Handsome Dog Puzzle! 🙂

The best thing about shopping handmade is the quality of the gift and the quality of the customer service.  Not only can you get an item custom made to your specifications, but you can get answers in a heartbeat to any questions, speedy shipping and one of a kind gifts.
