We finally had a few days to sneak away to the beach, and it was perfect.   The weather was just right, the water was nice and cool, the sand was…well sandy and the little house we rent was available.  Thought I would post a couple of pictures to make you envious! 🙂  If you have never visited the west coast of Florida, you really should.  The only flaw in the weekend was the grouchy man that yelled at us for dipping our dogs toes in the water.   Really we weren’t going to stay on the beach with them, just run them to the water and run them back.  Grrr on no dogs allowed.

My hubby and friend.

Wonderful west coast sunset

The sunsets are reason enough to visit the beach.

Thats my youngins.... part of them anyway, can you guess which two look alike?

Indian Rocks Beach

Yes, that would be my son and my daughter's boyfriend in those pink tubes.

Another night, another sunset. Never gets old

This year I planted a few cosmo seeds and they took off – highly unusual for any plant depending on me for care.   But I gave it my all this year.  I suppose that is what will happen with a little TLC and maybe a tiny bit of water.  In my family, I am famous for letting a plant get as close to death as possible and then watering.   It gives you a warm fuzzy feeling watching it revive back to life.

Back to my cosmos, they grew, they started showing signs of buds, and all of the sudden, A FLOWER!!   I really have a flower!   This morning it was standing up so straight and tall – perfect posture.  Within an hour it was already looking for the sun.  I love this little cosmo face filled with sunshine.   Maybe by tomorrow I will have more.

Beautiful little cosmo looking for sun.

When the pool warms up, the “kids” come out to play…   We call this group, the CannonBall 5.  They jump, they dive, they flop, its all so much fun!   But I think the most fun is being the photographer and watching as they plan their next big jump.

Cannonball 5 at it again!

This past weekend we spent a couple of days at a beach home on Anna Maria Island, Florida.   Let me tell you three days is not enough.   We had all intentions of shopping around the island and seeing more of the town.  Those plans fell through the minute we hit the beach.  Other than our walk to a local beach restraunt, we never left.  The sand, surf, shells, and fishing were all spectacular.  Hurricane Ike stirred up a vast array of seashells for us to choose from.   We have already discussed another trip to Anna Maria Island, but next time tack on a few more days.

This guy spent the weekend with us waiting for any fish that might come his way.    He and my husband bonded.  If my husband walked up to the house, he followed and waited on the path.

How can we go from this

Caught in a surf trance

Brandon & Steph caught in a surf trance

to waiting for a hurricane in one day.   Over the weekend we took a crazy and relaxing trip to Crescent Beach, Florida.  It was our first visit there, and hopefully not our last.  What a great area!  Just a short drive away from St. Augustine, this beach is beautiful.

We will wait for the storm, with fingers crossed that this one will not turn into a hurricane.
