Did I ever mention how much fun it is to create a custom bag?  I love sending fabric selections and combinations back and forth.  Then,  in the end, when all of the fabrics come together to make my customers happy it is so rewarding.  It’s really the next best thing to making a tote purse for yourself. 

The latest custom order I had was especially fun for me.  I adore a mismatched array of fabrics.  Believe it or not, there really is an art to putting a mismatched bag together.  And you will see from the picture, this girl knew what she was doing!  She picked out a great combination for her purse.

Ahh finally finished a new project!

 With good intentions.  Thats how all of the projects start out, but many don’t make the final cut.   Between football games, kids home from college,  and a dog that demands play time, this bag was finally completed.   I LOVE it.  Now the problem is that I want it…   I am like the shoemaker with no shoes. 

Who wouldn’t love a selection of fabrics from Joel Dewberry and Anna Maria Horner.  They make a fun combination.

Yes, that’s our sweet dog Ramsey.  We have had him since February, and what a loveable fellow he is.   Ramsey was just one day from being put down at a pound  and was rescued by HoundHaven in Minneola, Florida.  We had been stalking them and their dogs for quite some time, but didn’t find just the right dog for us…. until we met Ramsey. 

Houndhaven is putting together a calendar for 2010 and they are holding voting for the dogs to be published.  It’s a great fundraiser for a great group of people.  It amazes me how many dogs they rescue and adopt out to just the right homes.  I was overly impressed when we adopted Ramsey.    So come on… give a vote.  It’s easy, and only $1.00 and you can pay easily through paypal.    Just go to Houndhaven.org I am partial the photo of Ramsey, but feel free to vote for any of the cuties on that page.   Let’s help those kind people help the dogs!

With my son’s upcoming wedding, I am sure I will be learning a lot!  It seems like everything was so simple when I got married.. oh a few years back.   

 

There are so many options in everything, even men’s wedding bands.   Recently I found out about tungsten rings.   I don’t know how long they have been around, but I wasn’t aware of them.  What a perfect ring for my son.  He is outdoorsy and loves to build, fix and create anything and everything.  These rings are apparently quite durable.    It was a perfect fit.   He and his fiance chose one from SuperiorWeddingRings.com and it arrived within a couple of day of placing the order.   It’s perfect!

It's a winner!

Sunny Florida days, too much sun, food and fun might lend to doing crazy things.  Perhaps synchronized cannonballs!    My family and friends went crazy with the cannonball photo shoot.  It was laugh until you cry funny.   I am telling you, these guys were serious.  There was no stopping until they had the perfect shot.  

 

We were looking for recipes for our Johnsonville Brats (yeah one of the men actually tried to convince us that they are to be cooked in beer (good idea) on the grill (good idea) in TWO sticks of butter!! (BAD IDEA)  Thats when we ran across a fun contest.  We entered the cannonball 5 into the contest.  AND WE WON!  Not the grand prize, but it sure felt like a grand prize to us.   A new grill and a ton of other goodies later, we are still loving the photo.   Take a look at the other winners.  Too cute!  http://blog.createyourownville.com/?p=501

Yikes, do I have to go into that studio?!

It has been a scary scene in my sewing studio lately.  Fabric flying, threads rolling and bags everywhere!  I love the orders, but after a flurry of wholesale orders my creative juices are ready to flow.  It has been a great catchup day around here, lots of computer work and such.  Stay tuned for a fun announcement.

Normally, I brag about other sellers and their items, but I am proud of this Hipster Bag I designed and have to show it off!  These Joel Dewberry fabrics go well together!  This KeetaCollection bag has pockets on the outside that are made to fit cell phones, ipods, or cameras!   I find that this bag would be perfect for a trip to the theme park!  My daughter begged me to send her a few scraps of fabric because she liked the fabrics so much too!  So…she created this Key Fob  found at PuppyDogsNPolkaDots out of one of the fabrics that I sent.  Hope you enjoy this collection of creative fabrics as much as my daughter and I did!

July Beach Trips

July was a busy, but fun month!  With two birthdays in the family, we decided to take a trip to Indian Rocks Beach for a week.  Luckily were able to find a beach house that allowed dogs, and bring along the two trouble makers, Ramsey and Bo (my son’s dog).  We had a great time with the kids, dogs and family friends coming to visit.  What more could more could I ask for, a vacation with the family, great food at Crabby Bills, constant sunshine and warm waters!  The only downside to the trip was that we found out there were no dog beaches near by.  After the trip we were anxious to take Ramsey to a beach where he could test out the waters.  Since we rescued him from Hound Haven earlier this year we have not had the chance to take him on the beach.   My husband and I decided to take a quick day trip to Flagler Beach so Ramsey could play in the water.  He loved it!  Although…judging from the picture above, I do not think he was too thrilled about the sand that got in his mouth!  Anyway, we had a great trip and I just wanted to share a few pictures of my kids.
